Our Story
Viti Smoked Meats was started in 2024 by mother and son duo, Jhinny Ali and Shuaib Ahmad. Jhinny has always had a passion for cooking, anything and everything. Different cultures and different cuisines, all with her own twist. Her dream was to become a professional chef, but when her kids came along she had to put it to the side. Shuaib started getting into cooking, epecially BBQ, and the light bulb in Jhinny's head turned on. Being Muslim, it's not easy finding 100% Zabiha Halal food and with a lack of Halal BBQ in Southern California, we decided this is what need to bring for the people.
What does Viti mean? Viti is the original name for the Fiji islands, our home. There are some flavors in our cuisine that we bring to create our own VIti-American Fusion.
Our goal starting Viti Smoked Meats was not to make money, but to bring people together with the love and passion we have for cooking. You can really taste those feelings in our food!
All of the food on our menu is formulated by Jhinny-Head Chef, with all of the sides and seasonings being prepared by her. Shuaib-Pitmaster, smokes all of the meat to tender perfection.
We ensure all of the meats and ingredients used are 100% Zabiha Halal!
